Interests: My interests are so many and varied. I love to be involved in my children's activities and sports and I am currently coaching my daughter's softball team. My other interests include my personal pursuit of a desired intimate relationship with Jesus...as well as reading, decorating, baseball and just recently baking cakes.
Expertise: I am an extremely organized person that plans events and my home life very well. I take a lot of pride in my home and love to decorate not only my own home but other's as well. My husband says that what i do best is...my unusual abilty to have people gravitate to me and express their concerns and problems. Being an excellent source of comfort to them. I just see that as being normal. However, i do seem to be able to solve another peson's problem's easier then my own! lol I have had many jobs and opportunities in my life, but my true passion and what I believe in myself the most is my writing ability. Unfortunately i have yet to get paid for this talent...but I do not mind... I just hope my words can touch someone.

It's been a while.......................

Well, I really do not know where to start..it has been so long since my last update. I guess i will start with my surgery...it went well with the exception of the nerve that was being compressed by the herniated disc is not "awake" or working properly. As a result, this gives me a numb feeling in my left leg and pins and needles feeling in my left foot. I went to my post op appointment and they took out my stitches and prescribed some medicine that is supposed to help this nreve and hopefully I should return to normal soon..(pray that this works). I have been really doing great with that exception though..I healed faster with this surgery than I did with the first and that was to be unexpected because of the scar tissue. NOW...all I have to remember and train myself is to TAKE IT EASY and not overdo it! Pray for me in this way because I am not someone that likes to be slowed down by anything. The kids and Dave have been absolutely wonderful through all of this and I am so blessed with a wonderful family! Thank you God!

As far as softball I only had to miss one game...but the absolute touching part was the cards, flowers and even a guardian angel given to me by the girls! I cried because I knew right then how much they respected and missed me. Plus before the game, one of my other coaches said let's win this one for Coach Julie and the girls got real pumped and won by a landslide..I missed it so much that I called Dave while he was at the game to get the scoop! lol! Anyway we now have 8 wins 2 losses and are tied for first place and if we keep it up..we will make it to the playoffs! I never imagined that this might happen with a team in their first year, but I have to admit...I have a great bunch of girls with not only talent but that play from their hearts which is the golden secret to any sport. I so wish that I could coach a compettive team...but i will stick with this and build with these girls through the years..although I did find out that I will lose some due to their age next year. This saddens me, but I will just make sure to keep in touch....I feel like they are my own to a certain degree....cannot explain it really.

Dave and I signed up to coach Alyssa's soccer team..but it works a bit different than softball... in soccer it will be what ever name you draw, so some of my parents on the softball team are upset because they wanted us for soccer. I just told them to keep their fingers crossed and hopefully if this is the first year for most of them, I might end up with them anyway. you might be wondering at this point"I thought Alyssa played for a competitve team already"...well, we took her off of that team, the coach was too harsh and the schedule and committment was too much for a child her age in our opinion, so she can play recreational right now and if she wants to pursue select soccer again someday when she is older we will do that.

Sean is in Wisconsin right now visiting my dad and stepmom..he will be there until we get there. We leave the 19th and come back on the 24th. We are looking forward to seeing them since it has been a while...we are going to celebrate Sean's birthday up there with them so that too should be nice since they are unable to come here (my stepmom takes care of her mom who cannot travel). They miss a lot of stuff involving the kids, but when their circumstances change they plan to visit us here as often as they can.

Dave and I decided to build a house! It is a Blackburn home which is known in the industry as a very high quality built home. We are very excited about this...however, we are preparing ourselves for the stress involved. Dave will be doing a lot of the work himself or subbing in his own contractors to save money. It really helps to have a husband in the homebuilding industry! We put our house up for sale on June 31st and already had an offer, but it was too low, BUT i just heard that there is supposed to be 2 more contracts coming!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We pray that this works out! The only problem is that we will have to close on the house before we can get into our new one, so we will need a place to stay in the meantime and that is kind of stressful in itself...like moving 3 times! But we have to do it...I found a couple of places that will do month to month...but probably no fence for the dogs and much less space, but you have to sacrafice sometimes..plus it will be such a neat experinece to watch this house come together! Our new home is to be a ranch..located in Troy in a subdivision named Whitetail Crossing, it is a very nice subdivision and we found out that Alyssa already knows some people that live in there! (doesn't surprise me...even when I try to go somewhere looking less than desireable...she ends up knowing someone and I cannot go unnoticed! lol Anyway...Dave said he may start digging the basement as soon as next weekend! I am taking a lot of pictures and going to make a video of it especially since he is taking part in it...that way we will always have and our children something to look back and remember. The floor plan is a nice one and Dave's favorite thing is the garage and mine is the island in the kitchen I think and main floor laundry!!!!!!!!! Saves my back! I will keep you updated and when it is completed, and we are settled...we will be having a open house for our friends and family! One more thing.....YOU WILL NOT BELEIVE THE NAME OF ThE STREET! TURKEY ROOST LANE! YUK! But....i'll take it lol

Alyssa's stomach problems turned out to be severe constipation issues and already with a change in diet and some medicine she is feeling better and on the road to being her old self. We were getting worried...but one night I just said that's it! We are taking her to the emergency room, she couldn't even stand anyone to touch her belly...well, thank God we did! I felt so bad about her being in such pain and misery all the time, and I knew she was serious because it interfered with her play time. Such a terrible feeling it is when as a mother you cannot "fix" the problem, made Dave and I just sad for and with her.

I do not know where we will be celebrating Sean's birthday just yet...but it's his 16th, so I will have to figure something out. please pray for him because he is going to be getting his license and I am terrified. I will try my best to just trust in the Lord with all my heart that he is actually the one that is really in control.

Well, this has turned into a short novel, so I will torture you no longer....

Truly, Julie

We won again! 29 to 18!

Hi! We had our fourth game tonight and we won again! that makes us 3 for 4! I know it is not all bout winning, but it sure is fun! Anyway..the girls are continuing to have a blast as well as Dave and I. Alyssa had 3 hits and a smile on her face as she rounded the bases! I am sure going to be upset when I have to have my surgery in June and miss a game or maybe 2! I told Dave that if I am able to gimp up there after the first week, that I would be good and sit in a chair and coach and watch from it, without getting overly excited! Yeah..right! no, really, I will have to take it easy, but as long as I am there. We have our team pictures this coming Friday and I am so excited that Dave and I will be in this picture with our team and especially with our daughter! The manager gets a free package and I am getting a poster! I will probably put it in my computer/Cardinal room since it will fit the theme in there...but I have no idea where I will find a spot.

I have truly found my passion in life and cannot wait to build a repor and tight knit team/family with my girls over the years coaching them...

The other news of course as I mentioned above is that my surgery is scheduled for June 26th. i am optimistic and ready for the pain to go away..but not looking forward to being down a while. I do not take to well to having other people wait on me or taking care of my home, but I have to bite the bullet and do what's best for me and my family. I am requesting that everyone pray for me and my family as well as they make the neccessary adjustments.

Have a great Memorial Day and do not forget it's meaning!

Happy Mother's Day!

My mom with all of her grandchildren! Boy was she happy to see all of them in one place on Mother's Day! Dave made Shiskabobs and they were AWESOME. The day wasn't that great outside...but the kids threw the ball around between rains and played in the basement as well. I enjoyed staying home on Mother's day. originally it was supposed to be at the park, but like I said the weather did not cooperate. However, I have to admit...being home surrounded by my kids was all I needed. To all of you mothers out there....I hope you had a wonderful Mother's Day!

The PINK PANTHERS WON THEIR SECOND GAME.............26 to 16! YIPPEE!

It was Awesome! The girls played Friday night and they were HOT, HOT PINK! lol We stepped up our defensive and put the bats to the balls and came out on top winning by the 10 run rule after 5 innings! I wish everyone could see just how sweet and happy these girls are that I have! They continue to inspire me at every practice and at every game. Alyssa hit two home runs and all I can say is that when she was rounding third base...the smile on her face was PRICELESS! She was overcome with excitement! As well as her parents (of course)! The praise from the parents for all the players was so loud you would have thought we were at a mini Cardinal game. I am just filled with joy that I am a part of this and I want to be an influence in these children's lives...be a positive role model and a memorable coach that they can respect. I am at a crossroads...I am seriously contemplating going back to school to study physical education, that way, I can on a regular basis be a part of a child's life and help them reach goals that they might have thought impossible. To see a child that is so nervous or tiny or a beginner succeed is so rewarding to me....their smile is all i would need to get by. For those of you that know me well...Pray for me on this and help me discern what God would want me to be doing regarding this issue. I told my girls tonight...that Win or LOSE they will always be winners because that belief starts in their heart of who they are...they will not be measured by a ballgame, but they can be measured by their attitudes during a game, team work, committment and by striving to be the best they can be...in whatever area of their life. In essence...being a part of something positive...can only produce positive results.

until next time,
Coach Julie

This is my beautiful niece Zaidee! Sunday she was baptized and it was just Awesome to see another child enter into the faith. We celebrated by going to Gary and Amy's house for a buffet style late lunch and Zaidee received some wonderful presents. We got her a personalized bible...I wanted her first bible to be from us! it is exactly like the one we got Alyssa for her baptism last November, so now the cousins have matching bibles, Alyssa loved that, she even brought hers to show everyone! I was in charge of decorating and making the cake. I was very nervous as I mentioned before in my first entry about how the cake would turn out, but I am giving myself some props here...everyone kept asking Amy and Gary where they bought the cake! That confirmed my success for me. It truly was my best work yet and as well it should be, it took 4 and 1/2 hours to make! My centerpieces were a conversation piece...I took mathcing balloons and tied them in a ribbon around a fish bowl that had a real fish in them...well, to me it symbolized Christianity...you know the story of the Fish and Loaves and the fish symbol you see on cars...well for those who understood, they were like Great idea! For those that did not...it was like 'Julie, really neat idea'...well, I wasn't going to pass up the opportunity to spread his word, so I explained it's meaning to everyone that did not know. It was beautiful Beta fish i put in there and then whomever wanted one, could take one home. Zaidee looked absolutely precious in her white dress and her mommy and daddy were glowing as well. it was a wonderful day, with great weather and a blessing from God!
